McArthur Fire Department

The McArthur Fire Department Station 2400 is located at 303 West High Street, McArthur, Ohio in the County of Vinton in South Eastern Ohio. Our membership is comprised of 25 volunteer members on a POC Basis.  While our total coverage area is approximately 170 Sq. Miles, our main coverage area consists of The Village of McArthur, however we currently have contracts with the following Townships to provide fire suppression coverage: Jackson, Elk, Swan, Richland, and Brown (South of Section line 25000).  We also have mutual aid agreements with the following area departments: 2200 Dundas FD, 2300 Hamden FD, 2500 Wilkesville FD, 2600 Zaleski FD, 2800 Harrison Twp Fire and EMS, along with 1900 Wellston FD.

Vinton County Fire & EMS Info: Effective September 1, 2005 Vinton County Fire and EMS switched to a new County-wide numbering system in order to facilitate better radio communications. Below is a list of the new designations:

• 2100 - Emergency Management Agency
• 2200 - Dundas Fire Department
• 2300 - Hamden Fire Department
• 2400 - McArthur Fire Department
• 2500 - Wilkesville Fire Department
• 2600 - Zaleski Fire Department
• 2800 - Harrison Twp Fire and EMS
• 2900 - Vinton County EMS

Apparatus will have the designator of 1-20 (example: 2401 is McArthur Engine 1) while personnel will have the designator of 21 or greater (example: 2421 is McArthur Chief) The designator 21 is always the Agency Chief county wide.
